Aldebaran, or the "Red Eye of Taurus" as it is also called, is the brightest star in the constellation Taurus. The orange giant star is also one of the stars in the winter hexagon, which can be seen in the northern hemisphere during winter. The name comes from the Arabic word for companion. The Aldebaran socks also have a large red star as the main element and depending on the yarn they are knitted in, they will be a good companion, summer or winter.

The pattern has four sizes that can be knitted larger or smaller by changing the gauge. The sizes are only a guide, use measurements to find the correct size.

The pattern also has two options for the toe and heel. You can choose a different type of toe and heel than those described in the pattern, if desired.
