The Black Cauldron socks

Warm and scary socks, perfect for occasions like Halloween, or just any witch activity. In this motif you find witches cooking magic potion in their black cauldron, riding broomsticks and casting spells on black cats.

The pattern comes in size M and L. Size can be adjusted by using different gauge.

There are two sets of pattern diagrams. If desired, one set of diagrams may be chosen for both socks. To mirror the pattern, work diagrams from left to right.

The pattern has two alternatives for heel and toe. If desired, other heel and toe designs may also be used.

Suggested yarn: Sandnes Sisu/Gjestal Silja Sock / Mayflower 1 class. Other sock yarn with length of approx. 175-210 meters in 50 g can be used. Photographed sample is made with Mayflower 1 class sock.
Yarn amount: Colour 1: 50 g, colour 2: 50 g, colour 3: 50g. For shoe sizes larger than EU38-39, another 50 g of colour 2 may be needed.
Suggested needles: Pattern is written using 5 double pointed needles size 2,5 mm, 5 double pointed needles size 2,75mm and gauge 32 sts in 10 cm. Different needle sizes (ex.2 and 2,5 mm) may be needed for different gauge, or if you don’t hit gauge using suggested needles.
Gauge: 32 sts = 10 cm in stranded colourwork.
Sizes: M/68sts, L/76sts.
Measurements (circumference): 21,8 cm (24,3 cm). For other sizes, use different gauge.
