Kyra horse mittens

Kyra is a mitten design inspired by the Finnish equestrian star, Kyra Kyrklund. She is one of the world's most renowned dressage riders and has achieved fantastic results on the dressage circuit, including with her horse Matador.

Thinner needles than recommended for the yarn have been used to accommodate more stitches and thus more detail in the pattern. This also makes the mittens denser and warmer.

The pattern has a size, which can be changed by adjusting the gauge and/or by adding extra rounds. Gauge is changed by using thicker or thinner yarn and needles. Please note that pattern knitting is less elastic than knitting with one color.

Yarn suggestion: Rauma 2-ply old series / Drops Nord / Gjestal Fryd. Other yarns can be used. Choose yarn that gives the desired gauge.

Yarn amount: Color 1: 50g. Color 2: 50 g.

Needle suggestion: 5 double pointed needles size 2 mm. Another needle size may be appropriate if the desired gauge is not achieved with the suggested needle size.

Gauge: 33m per 10 cm.

Sizes: One size. Can be adjusted.
