Octantis mittens are thick and toasty winter mittens named after the south star, Sigma Octantis.
They knit up fast and make exellent Christmas gifts.
The pattern has one size that can be adjusted by changing gauge to fit both men and women. This is done by using thicker/thinner yarn and/or needles.
Keep in mind that stranded colourwork is less elastic than knitting with one yarn.
Suggested yarn: Ístex Álafosslopi / Rauma Vams / Sandnes Fritidsgarn / Viking Hobbygarn. Other similar yarn can be used. Choose yarn that gives desired gauge. Sample mittens are made with Álafosslopi
