This pattern is for those of you who like horses, seal mittens, or maybe both, like me.
The pattern "over the fence" shows a horse with rider jumping a fence on one side and an excerpt from a course design and a prize ribbon on the other, well mixed with elements from traditional Norwegian knitting.
The mittens in the picture are knitted with the yarn two-ply old series from Rauma, which is produced in Norway with Norwegian wool. Other yarns with a similar knitting tension can be used.
Thinner needles than recommended for the yarn have been used to accommodate more stitches and thus more detail in the pattern. This also makes the mittens denser and warmer.
Yarn suggestion: Rauma 2-ply old series / Drops Nord / Gjestal Fryd. Other yarns can be used. Choose yarn that gives the desired gauge.
Yarn amount: Color 1: 50g. Color 2: 50 g.
Needle suggestion: 5 double pointed needles size 2 mm. Another needle size may be appropriate if the desired gauge is not achieved with the suggested needle size.
Gauge: 33m per 10 cm.
Sizes: One size. Can be adjusted.
Measurements in cm: Cuff width: 10 Across mitten: 12 Full length: 26-27 Thumb from base to tip: 6 .
