Gemini is a well-known constellation in the night sky. The giant star Pollux is the brightest one and the closest neighbor to his brother Castor. In Greek mythology, they were twins, but had different fathers. One was immortal while the other was mortal, but they were always together, just like their namesakes in the sky.
The pattern of the Pollux mittens is the same as on Pollux socks. It shows Pollux in center, always together with his slightly smaller, but no less beautiful twin.
The pattern has one size that can be adjusted by changing gauge. This is done by using thicker/thinner yarn and/or needles.
Suggested yarn: Sandnes Tynn Peer Gynt / Viking Alpakka liten storm/ Du store Alpakka- Alpakka wool. Other yarn can be used. Choose yarn that gives desired gauge.
Yarn amount: Colour 1: 50g. Colour 2: 50 g.
Suggested needles: Pattern is written using 5 double pointed needles size 2,5 mm. Different needle sizes may be needed for different gauge or if you don’t hit gauge using recommended needle size.
Gauge: 32 sts = 10 cm in stranded colourwork.
Sizes: One size, see measurements.
Measurements in cm: Length without cuff: 22, Length rib cuff: 8-9, Across hand: 10,5, Thumb base to tip: 6,5-7. For other sizes, adjust gauge.
