Tusse-hat is a long pointy hat with optional tassel and pattern with elements from traditional Norwegian knitting. The hat is perfect together with Tusse- hat and socks.
The pattern comes in four sizes. Sizes may also be changed by using different gauge. The hat can also be made longer by adding more repetitions of the pattern. Keep in mind that stranded colourwork is less elastic than knitting with one yarn.
Suggested yarn: Dale Alpakka Forte / Viking Alpaca Liten Storm / Drops Nord / Other similar yarn or wool yarn can be used. Choose yarn that gives the desired gauge. Suggested colours: It is recommended to use contrasting colours to make a clear pattern. Yarn amount: Colour 1: 100 g. Colour 2: 50 g Colour 3: 50g. (All sizes) Suggested needles: Short circular needles size 2,5 and 3 mm. Different needle sizes may be needed for different gauge or if you don’t hit gauge using recommended needle size. Gauge: 27 sts = 10 cm in stranded colourwork with needle size 3 mm. Sizes: 53-54 (55-56) 57-58 (59-60) (Sizes are approximate and depends f.ex on how stretchy the yarn used is. Yarn used in tests makes stretchy hats that fits a wider size range than stated) Measurements in cm: Full length: approx. 36 (36) 41 (41). Across when laid flat: approx.24 (25) 26 (27).
