Valegro horse mittens

Valegro is a design inspired by none other than the dressage horse Valegro. Over the course of an incredible career, he has achieved countless victories alongside his rider, including two individual Olympic gold medals. Valegro has inspired and will continue to inspire horse enthusiasts around the world for a long time to come.

This pattern has elements from traditional Norwegian knitting and the mittens pictured are knitted with the yarn two-ply old series from Rauma, which is produced in Norway with Norwegian wool. Other yarns with a similar knitting tension can be used.

Thinner needles than recommended for the yarn have been used to accommodate more stitches and thus more detail in the pattern. This also makes the mittens denser and warmer.

Yarn suggestion: Rauma 2-ply old series / Drops Nord / Gjestal Fryd. Other yarns can be used. Choose yarn that gives desired gauge.

Yarn amount: Color 1: 50g. Color 2: 50 g.

Needle suggestion: 5 double pointed needles size 2 mm. Another needle size may be appropriate if the desired gauge is not achieved with the suggested needle size.

Gauge: 33m per 10 cm.

Sizes: One size. Can be adjusted.
