Vega mittens

Vega is the brightest star in the constellation of Lyra and the fifth brightest star in the night sky. Vega mittens are made in a traditional Norwegian style and you can Choose between stranded or ribbed cuff.
The pattern has one size that can be adjusted by changing gauge. This is done by using thicker/thinner yarn and/or needles.

Length can also be adjusted slightly by starting decreases one or two rounds before or after the chart indicates that decreases begin, or by adding / removing a few rounds in the beginning of the pattern.

Suggested yarn: Sandnes Smart / Rauma 3 traad / Dale Lanolin wool / Rauma finull. Other yarn can be used. Choose yarn that gives desired gauge.
Yarn amount for mitten with cuff alt. 1 (2): Colour 1: 100 (50)g. Colour 2: 50 (50)g. Colour 3: 0(50)g.
Suggested needles: Pattern is written using 5 double pointed needles size 3 mm. Different needle sizes may be needed for different gauge or if you don’t hit gauge using recommended needle size.
Gauge: 26 sts = 10 cm in stranded colourwork.

Measurements in cm: Length rib cuff: 9, Length stranded cuff: 7,5-8, Across hand: 11, Thumb base to tip: 7. For other sizes, adjust gauge.
