West of the moon cowl is a soft and cosy cowl that can also be worn on the head like a hat/headband. It is made in light and soft alpaca blend yarn and the star pattern is the same as on the West of the moon mittens, socks and hat.

The pattern comes in one size with two different st numbers so that you can choose between DK and fingering weight yarn. Sizes can be further adjusted by using different gauge The cowl can be made shorter or longer by taking away or adding rounds of the pattern. Keep in mind that stranded colourwork is less elastic than knitting with one yarn.

To achieve desired gauge, it is recommended to knit a sample swatch. If the swatch has too many stitches in 10 cm, go up a needle size. If the swatch has too few stitches in 10 cm, go down a needle size.

For gauge 23-24 cm per 10 cm.
